Brittany McPhillips

Originally from Connecticut, I moved to attend the College of Charleston where I graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in political science and as a member of the faculty honors highly distinguished list. I fell in love with Charleston and stayed in the city to attend the Charleston School of Law. While in law school I was a member of Phi Delta Phi, volunteered as a certified juvenile arbitrator, and volunteered with the Charleston County Wills Clinic. Following law school graduation, I worked in Connecticut, predominantly in family law, criminal law, and probate, until I was getting ready for work one day and looked out the window to see it snowing in April.

My decision to become an attorney was based on my love for helping people, particularly those who cannot necessarily advocate for themselves. For most of the last decade I focused my practice on personal injury clients: auto accidents, slip and falls, dog bites, and workers' compensation claims, protecting people from being taken advantage of by insurance companies. I am also a member of the South Carolina Association for Justice and the Injured Workers' Advocates. I recently transitioned my focus to estate planning and estate administration. These practice areas allow me to help clients plan for the future and to assist families through the difficult time after a loved one has passed.

My love for helping those who cannot advocate for themselves extends to animals. I have been a foster dog mom to many pups through the Charleston Animal Society and Palmetto Paws Animal Rescue. When I'm not working or helping the pups, I'm spending time with my husband and two sons.
