Throughout my childhood, I had many different ideas of what I wanted to be when I grew up. The one common theme was people. I always wanted to be working with people. In college I had the opportunity to work in several different settings. I often came in contact with lawyers and liked how empowered they were to help their clients. I knew this was a perfect fit for me that would allow me to work with people and bring about real changes to their lives.
Estate planning has allowed me to pursue my goal of working with people as my clients are all real people and families–not corporations and businesses. It is a tremendous responsibility being entrusted with advising my clients on their estate plan and legacies, but one I enjoy doing and I take this responsibility seriously.

My Story
I am originally from the Washington, D.C. area and relocated to South Carolina to attend college at the College of Charleston where I graduated cum laude with a B.S. in sociology with departmental honors. I attended Vanderbilt University Law School as an Honors Scholar, where I received my J.D. in 2004.
After graduating from Vanderbilt, I returned to Charleston and was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2004. I worked as an associate at the Bleecker Law Firm, LLC from 2004-2008 where I handled a variety of Family Court cases and gained experience in complex domestic litigation.
In 2008, I opened The Wine Law Firm, LLC and, after several years as a solo practitioner, in 2013 formed Freeman|Wine, LLC with my partner Wendi M. Freeman. I currently focus my practice on estate planning. I am a member of WealthCounsel, a provider of estate planning knowledge and national network of estate planning attorneys. I am also trained and certified as a Family Court Mediator.
I am a member of the Estate Planning Council of Charleston, the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association, the South Carolina Bar Probate, Estate Planning, and Trust Section, and the Charleston County Bar Association. I have enjoyed volunteering my time as an attorney in several settings over the years, and currently volunteer as an attorney for Pro Bono Legal Services and in 2012 was the first ever recipient of the Charleston Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year award.
My husband and I live in Mt. Pleasant with our two teenage children and two retired racing greyhounds. I am a proud member of the congregation at Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim. I am a tech enthusiast in both my personal and professional life, and am the person who will never say no to a new gadget or the latest app. When not working, I can be found spending time with my family and traveling the world as much as possible.
